Fluttering into the third (and three quarter) year

Have you fluttered in excitement recently? Or your stomach fluttered thinking about a recent happening?

Me? My heart still flutters in the third year of CARVE Pilates Studio.

It amazes me how business is built, friendships are fostered, bodies are restored, stories are told, tears are wiped, love is shared, moments are created throughout the three years of CARVE.

Turn back the clock, would I still say yes to entrepreneurship in a brick-and-mortar setting having these insights? Resounding yes!

I’ve grown so much during this period. Things I wouldn’t have the opportunity or platform to experience have I not been open to stepping up.

Having been an employee for a massive part of my life, building a business is unheard of in my family. I was curious. My mom pictured it this way: the crispy crunch of watching entrepreneurs build an empire enticed me.

More so, it’s an episode I wanted to tick off on my bucket list and hence the dive into the Pilates sector which I am most passionate about.

That step seemingly integrated my life’s skill sets from movement rehabilitation, fitness training, copywriting, marketing, digital optimisation, teaching, toilet washing, cleanliness maintenance, project management, time management to financial and budgetary management to come alive altogether, all at once.

During the second year of CARVE when my mom had to undergo multiple medical treatments, I experienced the fullness of client support in my changing schedule as I managed between work and weekly hospital trips. The most rewarding experience came when I could personally rehab my mom in a private setting within her comfort level to get out of the house. After each session, she could just rest and doze off into a slumber. That, stamped the silent approval of everything I’ve embarked on for these three years - perhaps we could dial the clock back to 2014 when I first started my Pilates instructor journey; or perhaps 2019 when I retired from my corporate career.

Thank you my dearest loveliest CARVE clients. I know everyone who stepped into the door. I know their health objectives. I know it’s a privilege to be accounted as your trusted partner for your fitness self. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Above all, everything what CARVE is today won’t be possible without my God in whom I trust. When no one is watching, when no one seems to be around, when you feel the path ahead feels like a wild card, praise be to Jesus Christ for the super on the natural and bringing me to where I am today. Amen!
