One sentence can’t exactly describe what we do. We are super good at helping you to manage pain - be it pain reduction or going towards pain-free zone for both athletes and patients.
Most importantly, we don’t just do Pilates. We do #biomechanics. That means, we are not about to busy ourselves teaching you the Pilates movement. We are going to observe what your body needs to get to where your body should be. So it’s all about you and your body; it’s about you getting stronger and fitter.
That's exactly what biomechanics is about when it is applied to support the performance of an athlete or to solve issues in an exercise movement to prevent injury. Effective movement is all about anatomical factors, neuromuscular skills, physiological capacities, and psychological and cognitive abilities[1].
Who are our clients?
If you have been injured or recovering post-surgery, yes we work with you on #rehabilitation back to functional activities.
If you want to increase strength due to #neurodegeneration or #stroke, yes we can work with you and align with your medical team (doctor and physiotherapist).
CARVE Pilates Studio is boutique. With my background in clinical Pilates, we only hire certified instructors passionate about upskilling themselves in biomechanics. We are an equipment-based studio using top of the range Merrithew® products and Naboso® neurosensory accessories to increase mindbody connection.
Having crossed the first year of operations make it easier to say I own a Pilates studio now. Took me a year of practice to stop saying I run a studio, but I own it. Stepping out of an employee mindset to an entrepreneur spirit takes some zest. It’s so easy to just hide behind the day-to-day operations than to stand amongst entrepreneurs out there who have so much passion and energy in showcasing their businesses.
The world of Pilates has evolved since the Covid hit. The rise of individuals doing workouts at home by following videos and the increasing number of influencers embarking on Pilates have all made it a favourable form of exercise that big corporate gyms have added it into their offerings.
Fundamental remains. It makes me wonder if anyone reading this blog would know that Pilates has six basic principles; breathwork is an essential component; and giving emphasis to pelvic floor engagement for males and females alike make a huge difference and impact to your workout experience.
Get in touch if you’d like to have a certified accountability partner to journey with you in your first step to become the stronger and fitter you. We offer all new clients a three-session starter pack to allow your body to connect with your mind as you gain more body awareness towards postural changes and new muscles awakened - all these are in itself an anti-ageing process 😊.
